Release 10.1A: OpenEdge Deployment:
WebClient Applications
Validating the custom deployment configuration
To check for problems before generating a new
.prowcapcfile, open the.wcdfile and choose DeployValidate. The Deployment Packager analyzes the settings you have specified and reports any error or warning conditions that it detects:
- Error conditions — Problems that you must correct before the new
.prowcapcfile can be generated. Examples include invalid or missing values in the Prowcapc File, Application Name, and Output Directory fields.- Warning conditions — Settings that might cause problems when your application is run, but will not prevent generation of the new
.prowcapcfile. For example, you see a warning if the new application name differs from the name of the source.prowcapcfile.If there are no errors, the Deployment Packager displays a “Validation succeeded” prompt that lists the changes you have made—that is, differences between the original configuration and the one you have defined—as well as any warnings. After reviewing the information, click OK to dismiss this prompt and return to the main window.
If errors are found, the Deployment Packager lists them in a “Validation failed” prompt. Click OK to return to the main window and correct the errors.
